Gulf War survivor Sgt Brian Himbry dies in German car crash. Brian died shortly after 10 PM on 17 March 1991, when the car he was driving on the German Autobahn blew a tire and plunged over an embankment. The nine year Army Veteran had been stationed in Germany with the 169th Armored Division prior to deploying to the Persian Gulf. He was gunner on a tank, he had described to his family his experiences to his family in Kuwait. He told of sand, wind, noise and planes flying overhead in the desert and of his unit firing on Iraqi positions. He is buried in the Greenhill Baptist church cemetery alongside his Father and Grandparents.
